She picked colors from the Caron Simply Soft Brites. I was happy with the end results. It is an inexpensive yarn, but it held together well and had quite a nice texture. It is very soft, almost silky. I've now used it for both knit and crochet projects. I am confident in saying it would be soft enough for baby blanket use.
